Annie's Journey
Dr. Annie Martin is a veterinarian by profession, a missionary by calling, and an author by coercion. She has owned small animal veterinary practices in Kansas and Nebraska and spent time working for the USDA in meat inspection. In between those jobs, she and her family left all to move to Kenya, East Africa where they lived for 19 years. Annie holds a bachelor's degree and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University. She and her husband, John, now reside in Ozark, Missouri.

A Calling She Didn't See Coming
Annie Moore Martin was trying to hold it together — juggling a 60-hour-plus work week in a solo veterinary practice, on-call 24/7, plus cooking, cleaning, soccer practices, piano lessons, gymnastics meets, and school plays. Almost at the end of her frazzled leash, she heard God calling her to Africa. Was it God, or exhaustion talking? Annie left the U.S. assuming she'd be treating large animals in the African bush. Instead, one door after another opened until her whole family found themselves serving as missionaries in Kenya. In Annie's often humorous memoir, "Little Dogs Pee Higher", she quickly discovers that her training as a small animal veterinarian did nothing to prepare her for the need she was about to face.
